Garrett Langdon – GW Energy Club President

Prior to starting his graduate degree, Garrett was most recently the Director of Financial Analysis and Business Planning at a small oil/gas exploration and production company with operations in Texas and California.  Before his move to the oil and gas industry, Garrett worked for 3+ years in the Biotech and Management consulting industries (focusing on alternative energy) in Boston, MA.  He graduated from Bentley University with a B.S. in Business Management in May of 2007.  He is passionate about the intersection of public policy and the broadly defined energy industry, and wants to facilitate change in the domestic and international energy industry.

Peter Widmer – GW Net Impact Chapter President

As President, Peter is responsible for leading the GW Net Impact Chapter in 
support of its mission, developing the Chapter’s strategic plan, building relationships within and across other schools, clubs and Net Impact Chapters, and acting as the primary liaison to Net Impact Central. As a first-year MBA Student, Peter is focused on the intersection of Decision Sciences and Environmental Sustainability. Prior to joining the GW community, Peter worked in Internet marketing as the Vice President for MegaHunter, and as an environmental and energy consultant at Mennonite Central Committee in Tanzania. Peter is also the owner of a small business, Widmer International that provides research and consulting services to companies and nonprofits worldwide.  Peter has studied, lived and work abroad in Latin America, Europe and East Africa, and he hopes to use his MBA to develop responsible energy and environmental management strategies within the United States and throughout the world.

Scott Weiss – Net Impact VP of Environmental Affairs & Energy Club VP of External Affairs

Scott Weiss is a current MBA candidate at George Washington University, pursuing a career in energy efficiency and renewable energy.  He has an economics and IT background, most recently serving as the IT Chief of Staff at CarMax, where he was responsible for the financial strategic direction of the IT Department.  At CarMax, he also cofounded CarMax’s first internal environmental sustainability strategy.   At GW, he is actionably pursuing his passion for implementing energy and sustainability solutions through his positions as VP Environmental Initiatives in Net Impact and VP External Affairs in the GW Energy Club.  Scott received his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond, with degrees in economics and finance.

Steve Kinard – Energy Club VP of Programming

Steve Kinard received his B.A. in International Studies from Texas A&M University in 2008. His undergraduate studies included a six month program focused on international business in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Shortly after graduation, Steve moved to Panama and began a career focused on real estate investment in the fast growing tourism industry. He worked for two years as a financial advisor in a local Panamanian firm focusing on retirement and estate planning. After three years in Panama, he enrolled in the Global MBA program at The George Washington University School of Business and began to pursue a passion for the energy industry. With a focus on international business, finance and social responsibility he plans to pursue a career in project finance in emerging markets.

Andreas Schneider – Net Impact, VP of Finance

At GW, Andreas is focusing on sustainable urban economic development. He is currently interning with the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, where he assists with real estate development and sustainability initiatives. As NetImpact’s VP of Finance, he takes care of budgeting and reimbursements, helps manage fundraising efforts, and assists with event planning.

John Lee, LEED AP – Energy Club, VP of Marketing & Communication

John received a BS in Civil Engineering from George Washington University. He began his engineering career in New York City as a Bridge & Structural Engineer, first working for Dewberry, and then transitioning to Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB). At Dewberry, he specialized in pedestrian and vehicle bridges, as his proficiency with the complexities and details surrounding small and mega bridges developed. Two years later, he joined PB’s Architectural & Buildings Group where he worked on transportation-related facilities for the next four years. At PB, John’s responsibilities as an engineer multiplied and evolved. He was appointed by the Vice President of the Department to plan, coordinate and moderate the quarterly department meetings. He also co-managed a MTA project that was awarded the American Council of Engineering Companies Silver Award for Engineering Excellence. John’s most recent projects have included consultations in sustainable green-design as a certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredit Professional (LEED AP). John enjoys shifting gears by indulging in photography, rock climbing and basketball in his free time. His inner techy also emerges during leisure time as he enjoys learning about innovative technology and gadgets that enhance performance, efficiency and sustainability.

Eugenia Gregorio – PMBA Net Impact Liasion

Eugenia is a 1st year, part-time MBA student at GWSB, on the Net Impact Board as PMBA Program Liaison, and the Fundraising Chair for the Business Response 3.0 conference.  She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2002 and currently works full-time for a real estate and property management company based in the Washington, D.C metropolitan area.   Eugenia is the Sustainability Manager, responsible for green building and sustainability initiatives for $4 million square feet of a commercial and residential building portfolio.

She has 10 years of professional work experience in construction management, construction consulting services, and implementation of green building and corporate sustainability initiatives. She has been a very active member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) National Capitol Region since 2005 and was previously co-chair of the Programs Committee, responsible for organizing networking and educational green building events for the local community.  She plans to focus her MBA in Corporate Social Responsibility and obtain the GWSB Certificate in Responsible Management.

Rachael Sherman – Net Impact Chair of Events & Partnerships

Rachael R. Sherman is completing a Global M.B.A and M.A. in International Affairs at the George Washington University’s’ Elliott School of International Affairs. She completed a B.A in Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia where she was also involved in volunteer activities such as research on illegal wildlife trade for T.R.A.F.F.I.C. From 2006-2010 she lived in Beijing, China where she studied Mandarin at Peking University, acted as the general manager for a non-profit community center, managed sales and marketing for a private-public joint venture village renovation project and served as a consultant for the World Wildlife Fund Beijing office’s China Shift program focusing on Chinese investments overseas.  During her first year in DC Rachael worked as an intern in the GW Office of Sustainability managing the Green Office Program and creating a sustainable procurement policy for the university. In the summer of 2011 she worked with Efficiency Exchange on the China Sustainable Retail Supply Chain project. Rachael is passionate about promoting environmental sustainability and cross sector cooperation.
